Saw this 1960s Rolex 6542 (the model without the crown guards) at a shopping centre in Malaysia while I was on holiday recently. It was being sold at the bargain price of just £6450 (converted from Malaysian currency). If I'd had the money I would have bought it on the spot. Anyway I went back a few days later and it had been sold.
Hi there
ReplyDeleteI've noticed you've got a keen eye for some nice watches. I'd like to know if you can recommend a reliable repair place? I've got a lovely 50's Omega Automatic that needs fixin'.
Thanks in advance
Hi Nick,
ReplyDeleteit all depends how much the watch is worth and how much you'd want to spend. Also, whereabouts are you based?
Well, I'm based in London. I'd rather not spend more than about £150 on repairing it and I'm not entirely sure how much it's worth although it is in cosmetically very good condition.
ReplyDeleteI would just be interested to know if you've had good experience with anyone in particular?
Thanks again.
Nick
If you're in London, I would suggest Austin Kaye on the Strand. They specialize in old Omegas. Or you could try The Antique Watch Co. on Clerkenwell Rd.
